Depends what you're trying to accomplish. Antenna analysis of this
case starts looking like a waveguide, depending how wet and conductive
the road is!
If you use horizontal polarization, you'll wind up with a pattern that
goes either fore-and-aft or sideways, take your pick. I'd be worried
about skewering dead possums with any antenna slung under my car ...
