Here's a far-fetched idea.... The FCC saw the owner's post here. They contacted Marcus. Marcus gave them the owner's IP Address (usually recorded by the software). FCC tracked down his ISP, his account, to his home, knock knock, I'm with the FCC come with us please.

I agree with John - it's down too fast for it to have been the FCC. If there's other stations in the area still on the air illegally for those many years, then it's likely the guy just got board.... or he electrocuted himself while tinkering with the equipment.

But then again.... the dude hasn't been back on the board. Things that make you go hmmmm.

I got a phone call that said that they jumped to a new freqk. Never heard of a Pirate Jumpng ship. Sometimes they talk ruff - but aren't ready - to walk the plank - when the FCC guys sink the ship. GRR ! Just a lot of rap ! ?

That's weird. Wonder what the point would be to change freqs. It's not like it's going to throw the FCC off the trail. Perhaps he's a responsible pirate, that's ensuring that he is not interfering with any nearby freqs.... :)

What freq did they jump to? Has the signal strength changed at all, signifying that perhaps their dial location isn't the only move they made?

That would never happen Brandon because I'm not allowed to talk to strangers. I like your way of thinking, it is far fetched, but it makes perfect sense. Our loyal servants at the FCC not having the available resources to deploy a DF'ing unit, so they rely on the internet and the girth that comes with being an agent. It would make a great movie plot.

I fear the more probable scenario, MTM might just have found the pirate before the FCC ;)

Hey, I always love a great movie plot. If Steven Spielberg needs any pointers, give him my phone number! :)

I don't think FCC has gotten him yet. I've been watching for the FCC reports, and I've not seen anything related to this station. A more likely scenario is what MTM mentioned about them testing new equipment. Maybe they toasted their equipment.

I did like the part about them being unhappy about our knowing about them. LOL Marcus, maybe when they come back on the air, we'll get some free advertising... "Those no good #!$* SOB's on Intercept Northwest have tracked us down!"

You know, I just looked at their website. He's put a great coverage map up there. It would be pretty useful to use in tracking down the signal. I'm not real familiar with the landscape over there, but looking at the map leads me to believe they are probably somewhere between Kent and Seatac. Call up the local radio club - they would have a hayday!

:D :D :D :D A real pirate would have made his mark - in blood. X marks the spot, (right next to the 7-11 and church parking lot -- and knock 3 times cause the bell doesn't work.)

That didn't take long  I wonder what happened to Mr. TheChronic937 and why he doesn't post anymore. I'd really be interested in seeing civil participation from his end - but, he probably couldn't do it without some expletitives. I wonder how much money he's put into his/her operation. Can you get FM transmitters on ebay these days? I'll have to search and see what kind of money they go for.

I have never heard of the FCC actively going out and hunting pirate stations anymore. All enforcement actions have been complaint-based for years, they just simply dont have the money anymore to go pirate hunting.

Of course, in the Seattle market, there are a few in the industry that privately seek these stations and file reports...

What is this pirate station's website? I would like to see the url to that coverage map.
