The Rainier site was not a repeater, either, just simplex P25. For awhile dispatch was specifically identifying as "Rainier" or "Kalama" depending on which one they were transmitting on, but lately I only hear them identify as "Kelso". It was my understanding the Rainier site was a temporary test because Columbia Co. also has transmitters on Green Mtn. and are constantly pounding WSP's frequency, so they were checking to see how that would work for them. Maybe they're still using Rainier and have just stopped identifying as such. What is the Green Mtn IWN frequency? I'd like to see if I can pick it up from Kelso.

Site 115 Kalama control channel is usually 170.675

Found out today that they are using the Rainier site as the primary transmitter/receiver site, they have just gone back to identifying as "Kelso". The mobiles receive it much better when north of Kelso and dispatch doesn't have to put up with the interference from the Columbia Co. equipment located near them at Kalama. They still have equipment at the original location on China Garden Rd. above Kalama and will identify as "Kalama" when transmitting from that tower.

I'm hearing that on Aug 25th, they are going to flip the switch for District 7 to their TRS. It's going to take three days starting with Snohomish, then Skagit and ending with Whatcom.

Whatcom, Skagit & Snohomish are still on their old analog systems as of this date.

Wenatchee was both analog and IWN this afternoon, FWIW.

Did WSP in King county stop patching to their VHF freqs in fdma?

Haven't been monitoring KC wsp for awhile...and my portable isn't picking anything up on VHF...

Sounds like a district 7 channel is live on 700 MHz, suspect it's mostly still patched VHF traffic.

I didn't think district 7 was going with a 700 trunk system. Maybe added to district 2 talk group for crossover.?.

Site 203 covers Snohomish County lowlands. It's been carrying the Dist 2 talkgroups (592xx) for months, now it's got 59709 with the Everett dispatcher.

Would give their King Co neighbors the ability to scan them without a second radio or having to leave their trunk group.

So I drove over to spokane, and got some interesting WSP monitoring and figured out that I obviously had some gaps.

1) Kittitas was VERY active handling snoqualmie pass during the snow storm - it seems like they had all pass traffic incl. several miles into king county running on the kittitas freqs.

2) I was able to receive the digital 700 signals for king county just fine all the way across kittitas for sure, not sure if i got it statewide.

3) I clearly need to figure out/update the rest of the state's 700 systems, since they seem to be the most reliable for me (I expected the old VHF freqs to have me covered but didn't

4) I only got spokane area traffic on IWN. Looking at my scanner programming this morning to figure out what I did wrong.

First problem solved, I hadn't programmed my stuff as well as I thought. So at least now my conventionals are all right. Next, on to digital :-)
