Silly question but is WSP using their 11K2F3E modulation now? I noticed their exemption is up as of 8/1...

Dist 4 commo is completely down right now.
Great 'upgrade'.

I'm hearing that WSP District 2 metro area are going to be testing their 700 trunking system next month and it isn't on IWN. It's unknown when they are going to be switching to it or if they are going to be encrypted.

Does anyone know if WSP has recently upgraded their antenna systems and/or output power? I haven't listened to them in a while (while mobile) but suddenly I'm hearing WSP East/West Pierce and Everett as if I'm in those areas... (i.e. full-quieting) from all over Bellevue.

Could just be good VHF conditions I suppose...

Quick Update: so I've noticed that all of the WSP frequencies are 'active' (even Olympia) from Bellevue. I think WSP linked the radio system due to the Steelhead mud slide.

Linked as in simulcasting on the same frequency? They don't have that capability. They would have to multicast on another frequency.

Probably just conditions.

Maybe that water made its way out of your coax. :D

No, I'm saying that the dispatch channels (for these areas) are linked to the main antenna at WSP HQ in Bellevue.

It could be conditions but it has lasted several days. I'm not talking just a scratchy reception here... I'm talking full-quieting S9+ signals.

Will keep an ear on this...

My antenna systems are perfect because I did em.  (and they're fairly new.)

Its my freaking windows in the back that can't keep the water out. But our vehicles are Ford stinking Aerostars.

Ill do some listening to Tacoma tomorrow. My guess would be that they may be transmitting off Capitol Peak right now during some upgrades.

In other news looks like there may be a few Ford Utilities in the WSP's future... Saw one with WSP logos today going in the opposite direction east of Sequim.
