25w output, but it really only has to cover under a city block.

Still, not even close to optimal.

Fixing the TRBO repeater at the Mount Baldi site. Love the AT&T Long Lines tower. Those Western Electric and Gabriel horn reflectors are massive!

Ive been wanting to put a camera and wind meter up there (along with a commercial lowband install) to watch winter happen.

Those conex boxes (not shown) have blown over up there in years past.

The anemometer on the four connected towers was broken by the wind- along with the antenna for the 441.350 TRBO repeater. Judging by the debris from a shattered satellite dish and other antennas laying around, Mother Nature unleashes her fury up there quite often.

Managed to QSO Mark on P25 across the sound as well.

Sweet! I was wondering what those antennas mounted on the AT&T building were. It's awesome to see such a large building installed in such a remote location.

There is a sister site called Ravens Roost up above 6000 feet not too far from there that takes even longer to get to and hard to believe when you come across it. Local ham used to and may still own it.

But at least one of those big dishes aims right at it. I think it is called American River on this map.

Thanks for the info! Always had a strange fascination with these Long Lines sites. Found it on Google Earth:

There was a guy that put a UHF ham repeater at the Ravens Roost site quite a few years ago, probably long gone. I wonder if there's anything active up there anymore? Looks like a few tower sites. Have to do a FCC search.

Is the P25 repeater going back up there Mike, or just the MotoTrbo?

I'm afraid the P25 unit is gone. It's been sold locally, so we may see another P25 repeater up ;)

Thanks for the update Mike. I still need to make it up that direction and try out the MotoTrbo and see how far south I can get into Baldi with my handheld. Otherwise I will be up in late July with the MotoTrbo and P25 handhelds.
