I am looking for frequency used by the Rangers in Washington State Parks.
In checking the State Patrol list it identifies "J" units as being DNR and others. Does that mean that to monitor I should monitor the WSP frequencies for the particular area. I am especially looking for those at Graylands and Twin Harbors State Parks (at this time.)
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks,
Gampawayne

151.28 (S) state-wide. All the park rangers on their Ht's have access to DNR State (R) 159.42. They also have assess to 155.37 and many marine freq's.

WSP dispatches for most of the state parks. These will be "Parks" units (duh!). Other units, such as DNR LE are "J" units (although I'm not sure what their mission is).

I hear several Parks units regularly on King County South Area Disp(154.680)

They will typically identify as "Parks XXX"

I live near Dash Point State Park, and "Parks 345" was assigned there for several years. Typically they log in and off duty on the WSP area channel, and also run names / plates same.

I was mildly suprised at how much warrant activity seems to come out of the campgrounds. In the summer, they seem to hook up a few every week or two.

Down here they run DOL checks ect. though the county dispatch. Also, they ID on state B (159.420) as Marryhill XX, Brooks XX ect. using the park name in the callsign like the DNR used to do with district names.

Also, I've heard Parks ("Parks-xxx") traffic on Bremerton area, I believe were Olympic Nat'l units up in the Lake Cushman area. Like the Forest ("Forest-xxx") Service is contracted with WSP for communications.
