No, they're just labeled differently on different radios. I watched a bus driver and a supervisor key up and only had 4176 programmed in to the scanner in my ear.

Dude that's hardcore.

I carry a scanner in my pocket.
I never thought of sticking it in my ear...

I see TG 4176 just made the database on the other board. No discussion over there? I wonder who "found" it?

That "ATO Supervisor" tag is simply the radio ID. You can program whatever you want into that field- it doesn't go over the air. It does go away temporarily and is replaced by the ID of whichever radio is transmitting on the system.

The line above that would be the name of the talkgroup, which appears to say ATO.

I programmed mine to say "XTS2500 FPP" for an ebay auction.

Where's the talkgroup alpha tag then?

It's on the line above- there's a glare, but you can just make out what appears to read "ATO"

Yeah I didn't see that at first. The ATO exists above the RadioID line. Mike, is that the TGID label or the Zone label?

It appears they're not using zone tags on that portable. If they were, you'd see it to the left of the channel name.

On most high-tier Motorola radios, you can define the max number of characters for zone and channel names. On the XTS2500 and 5000 it's 12 total. I usually select 3 for zone and 9 for channel name.

Seeing that the POS only uses one zone it makes sense that they don't have a zone label.

The system is transmitting the zone alias as "SEATAC", so it's definitely not displayed on that radio.

The question mark on the '1' button sure will solve some things.

You're referring to the Site Alias- not the zone. The Zone alias is programmed into the radio by the cps and can be set to whatever you want. If a trunking radio is set up for it, you can hit a button to see which site the radio is affiliated to. In that case, the radio would display "SEATAC"
