I admit to being an Ebay geek. I keep seeing old Nextel / Motorola L3000 's for sale. They cover from 806 - 870 mhz. I'm up on commerical gear -- but not cellphone stuff. Can these be programed for receive only ??? I am talking about receiving Public Safety channels and NOT cellphone. I do believe these are digital radios? Go ahead and tell me that they are junk. Better yet, tell me that a professional radio shop could do it - legally. I'm not into the bootlegging.
