Try this for understanding what they intend to do on the first flight. I remember listening for the first flight of 777, primarily on 123.XXX freqs, and it is really worthwhile to listen.

Thanks Nick. They used 123.475 as the primary freq on the 777 test flight. My memory is a bit hazy so I can't remember the 2nd frequency that the chases planes used to talk to each other. Of course, the chase planes talked to the 777 crew but the chase planes used another freq to talk between themselves to coordinate where they would fly during certain flight test manuevers. What surprised me was that the Seattle TV stations clearly did not know the freqs because the reporters were guessing about certain flight operations. Had they been listening, they would not have had to guess.

Here is some license info:

http://interceptradio.com/fcc.php?z=1&cmap=1&cfreq=1&cemt=1&cue=1&scall=KRU7

If you scroll down to the map, click Birds Eye view, then zoom in you will see the HF log periodic antenna on their roof.

Remember to subtract 1.4khz from the license freq to get your dial freq on the HF stuff.
This is because the license shows the center freq of a 2.8khz SSB channel.

I heard a Boeing aircraft declare an emergency on their primary Everett company frequency of 123.475 at 1:37PM today. "What is the nature of your emergency?" Boeing Everett dispatcher asked. "The captain's window just disintegrated!," the second officer reported. I have no other information other than the aircraft is safely on the ground. Perhaps it was a delivery aircraft?

Thanks Rich! KRU7 ??? for the license. I love it! Crew 7!

Rich--really odd. I tried to post this twice just before your post and it did not post. I was using Google's Chrome (which I really like so far). Now I flipped over to IE8 (from where I had made my other posts) and hopefully this reply will work.

I think I figure out my posting problem. I had a post in progess on IE8 and forgot about it. I also was using Google Chrome for some other stuff and opened a new post in Chrome and did a Submit. So, now I understand.

It looks like they also have a HF square loop antenna as well. Pretty cool.

Wish I had the towers (and space) for that! :D 8)

Yes, They had a first flight earlier today for a Qatar Airways A7-BBE. 1 hour after takeoff the window shattered.

I really doubt the 787 will fly today, especially after talking to one of my flight instructors. He says FAA rules for test flights require VFR conditions. So we have a cloud deck at 2,000-3,000 feet. It all depends on what weather restrictions the FAA has put on the first test flight.
