Question for the group. How many have in the past or present - program ALL of the regions Control Channels into ONE bank. The PRO-95 and PRO-96 work -- if you program a conventional - non trunked channel after each control channel. (Example: Control, Conv, Control, Conv, Control,) This works with Motorola systems but NOT GE EDACS. It allows the scanner to "SEE" and listen to only one control channel and then SCAN again to the Next control channel. This would allow anyone in King County to monitor ALL of the control sites. Does anyone else do this? Have you had any problems ?? Happy Holidays - MTM

I've done it with the newer Uniden models. They will only use one CC per bank, once they get a lock they keep coming back to the same one until the signal drops out for an extended time.

It works okay, always keeps the system active without having to monkey with the controls, but you could wind up latching on to a site that's not carrying the talkgroups you care about.

Thanks FlashP. Good info on the Unidens. The Pro-95 and 96 - do NOT seem to have a problem - scanning more than one control channel or site - all in one bank - provided you "trick" the unit by adding one or more Non-trunked channels after each control channel. The Downside is -- if you have the talk-group list full, it takes a longer time to search-scan each control channel. It slows down the scanning. But it "Auto" scans all of the control channels in the system - if entered correctly.

It would be useful if someone with knowledge on programming the scanners the "best" way could develop a base file with just control channels. The rest of use could add TGs to the base file as we wish and then DL the file to the scanner.
