Sounds like Tacoma Fire is dispatching on 154.130 again. They've been absent for a couple of years.

Any ideas? Doesn't sound like any operations, just dispatching. But, I may be too far north to hear anything else.

Brad.

Also noticed that Tacoma is again sending dispatch signals on 154.295 (their old F-2). Might be for neighboring / outlying fire agencies - for which they contract dispatch services to ?

Central Pierce Fire is dispatched by Tacoma on 154.295.

Might it be related to my hits on 154.205/131.8??

Is the dispatch simulcast w/ 800?

I can't get the Tacoma 800 system up here, so I don't know if it's simulcast with anything.

It may have something to do with it's current VHF customers, but I don't know. All the addressing I hear seems to be Tacoma proper, so I'm thinking it's just Tacoma activity - but again, I don't hear everything.

Just seems odd - taking a step backward from what they have been practicing for the last few years.

Brad.

I would tend to belive that your sheer distance from Tacoma might be a factor for reception of that 800 trunked system. Can you even hear the control channel(s) ? Maybe a Yagi is order there ? Just a thought.

It might be that Tacoma is using 154.130 (VHF) for internal station house alerting, . . . (i.e. the old Plectron devices). Modern day folk are typically using the Nighthawk system ($1,900 each) now.

I don't know for certain, just speculating.

Will check. I'm using it CSQ, as it's a low-power portable channel for Island County FD 3.

And, correct - I'm too far north to hear the CC, so that's the only reason I'm not hearing any simulcast with 800mhz. I just can't get their system here.
