Does anybody out there have any fire bells hooked up? My goal is to hook up a fire bell in my rec. room. I'm going to purchase a Nighthawk EA1, this is a powered on off electrical box that is activated by capcode just like digital pagers. It also has a connection for a bell or chimes. It also has a serial port for a printer.

My plan is to plug the powered speakers into the EA1, then my bell, then a printer. My scanner will be scanning my dispatch and Tac. T.G. and have the powered speakers plugged into the scanner.

So when my Dept. gets a call the EA1 will activate giving it power and turning on the speakers for my scanner. The bell will ring and printer will print digital page.

It was so much easier when we had the Motorola Minitors ! Any thoughts on this?

I was going to say, on the Minitor V amplified charger base, there is an output for a relay to control lights or anything. I found something on eBay a while back where somebody had make a kit with a strobe light and all you did was plug it into the back of the amplified charger and everytime the pager went off, if it was in the charger base, the strobe would go off. I'll see if I can find it again....

Thank for your help! We no longer use Motorola Minitors since we are on the 800 Mhz TRS . That's why I said it was much easier when we had Minitors.
