I suppose the dispatcher assumption is...close?

I'm something of a consultant/engineer/prod spec for a company that manufacturers radio command and control systems (dispatch consoles). Some years ago I was also on a volunteering kick in public safety which is what got me into radios. By association with other companies that serve public safety I'm also familiar with field equipment and vehicles. So I completely understand everything you're saying and I certainly don't have any reason to doubt you, I'm just looking to understand the mechanics behind what Snoq is doing. :) Once upon a time there was a local Eastside agency that thought they could run traffic on SR-520 and they did for quite some time until one day, they were told not to.

yea its just to help out in adding extra staff in a location where accidents are common, and give the city boys a chance to go fast.

your company you work for start with a 'Z' by any chance?

Mmm, I'd rather not say, though it's easy enough to figure out. I'm full of opinions and none of them are that of my employer. We'll leave it at that.

So Snoqualmie PD has a tac channel on the TRS, and a tac channel on VHF conventional?
