I have been seeing this Helo flying around the south end of Lake wa here last couple of days. Now today I see they are picking water up out of the lake right in front of the Barbie Mill housing area. Next to Seahawks hdqtrs. Looks like maybe they are practicing BAMBI bucket pick up and drop skills. what FD could this be? or maybe a private owner? Anyone have any info? anyone else catch this?

During the wild land fire season there are so many private contractors out there. It is big bucks. The money is so good that a some fire districts will have a piece of equipment East of the mountains or out of state and by the time they have returned it has been paid for.

A couple years ago I stumbled across a DNR web page stating air support rates.
A basic small helo with a bucket would fetch $1500/hr. Probably 2000/hr would be more likely, considering the ground support logistics.
I'm sure there are some qualifications and certs and such for equipment and drun...er I mean pilots.

Saw this Helo again today flying around the airport. Doing touch and go type stuff. They must be stationed out of the airport there.

Vancour or Vincoeur? Is Holling branching out?
