Hi, im in the Bellingham area and have a very old scanner that sounds like it has a short or something in the squelch button maybe. Anybody know of anyone that works on scanners, and contact info for them? thanks!

Is it just a dirty contact, or a bad solder joint? What kind of unit is it? The Regency's had some units with a slide control on it, and they get dirty very easy. If it's just a dirty contact, try some tuner cleaner. You should be able to get some at Fry's, I doubt that a radio shack would still sell it.

You also might want to check with your LOCAL (not Sears, or other big names) TV repair shop.
