Comcast is leaving Nextel for Verizon next month. How can Nextel have enough money to buy new radios for half a nation, while people are leaving in droves?

Don't know, friend of mine lost his Nextel use at Comcast last year. They probably negotiated a cheaper plan.

I can confirm in the 90's, Spokane PD cars were receive only. Nothing happened when I pressed the PTT.
I've heard recently Spokane SO come up WSP area on a mutual call. I think it was during all the snow.

Doing some more digging around today, I found out that both BNSF and UP with their police do have MDTs...well really Panasonic Toughbooks that are connected via cellular.
