I believe the Portland UP trunked system was sort of a test for UP, BNSF, FRA, and ODOT. I remember seeing a blurb about it on the Motorola web site a few years ago, but can't seem to find it now. I have heard the BNSF Special Agents locally do not use it, they do have radios for it but they are unused at this time.

JIWN activity in Portland seems to ebb and flow, a few weeks ago there was constant use on many sites. Must have been some sort of major deal going down.

Not sure what CBP use? Maybe Nextel? Maybe JIWN?

These were UP Special Agents; they kind of announced them as such. I heard it this afternoon; radio ID the UP agent used was 102 on the 35104 that is listed as Police.

Oh, I did hear some encrypted traffic on IWN just now. Talkgroup 13782 with Radio ID of 11985; didn't catch the other user in the conversation but it did change radio ID. Conversation lasted about 5 minutes or so. I might run UniTrunker on this system over night to see what comes up.

Yes indeed, Jackyl....

And to keep it (somewhat) radio related, has anyone ever managed to decode the CW in the background of this Roger Waters tune?

You need to listen closely, and around 4:00 into it you can hear it pretty clearly, although it does run throughout.
(Wikipedia offers some hints)

Oh, it's not a Stihl, I think it is Dolmar?
51CC w/18" bar, doesn't bog down at all, way better than my old 35CC Mac

(but still a wus' chainsaw compared to these:)
