Got my Eye on a BC 15 or the new BC 396 when it comes out. Got enough "cash gifts" that I will decide on one or the other... Merry Christmas!

I got a Pro106; love how it works directly with UniTrunker without a discriminator tap.

Been waiting for a fed or Union Pacific to do something on P25....

FPS is on 408.200. Should be back active tomorrow, as well as the UP trunk in Portland.

Yeah, I listened to UP today on AAR 88. They seem to be pretty stationary for P25 on that channel so I was able to monitor them as an CONV object. But I have the system in there so I will try to catch a conversation on there.

I have the DOJ IWN in there too just for sport but since that report came out, I doubt I will hear anyone use it.

I envy my friends in Toronto, ON (Canada) who have boat loads of stuff on P25 at all hours to monitor :)

You should hear the UP trunk system it has a bit of activity on it at all times of day and night. Mostly building trains and working on FRED's. Though I do hear the telecom guys on there occasionally as well.

The FPS is pretty active as well, not the most exciting though.

JIWN is pretty busy in Portland, but spread across multiple sites. And of course I haven't heard anything but encryption for over a year.

Couple of ham repeaters that are P25, but not alot of folks have the gear to use it. Plus they are all down south - 2meter in Newberg, 440 in Salem, and 2meter and 440 in Eugene area.

There was a 440 P25 capable repeater in Vancouver but the new owner disabled the capability of it to pass P25

The audio is kinda poor. But I hooked up an old RS ext speaker.
I feel so old school.
I do have an Icom V8000 and a FT-50 Yaseu(dead).

I'm so glad I don't have to figure all the talk groups and freq's..

vhf, vhf,vhf.

It's like black & white TV to you 'trunk' guys.. :|

...That's to bad...

Doesn't TSA have a P25 repeater at PDX?

Yeah 172.9 and simplex on 172.150. It seems like I remember the repeater is pretty low level, at the concourse somewhere.

I just installed a rockin' DSP module in my little bro's V8000.

This thing kicks ass, knocks out darn near all static, hiss etc... on received signals, and is basically a plug n' pray install. Actually, it can knock out ALL of the static with DSP set a little higher, but I find the increased digital distortion almost as annoying.

I miss my V8000 so bad...

Santa did not bring any radios, but I did get me a cool new chainsaw!

Happy New Year!

Cool a chainsaw! Hopefully it's a big old Stihl. Reminds of a bad 80's hair metal band with all the chain saw revving in it.

To keep it radio related does anyone else listen to Weyco, AOL, WCLA, or any of the other logger repeaters? I do. I heard the guys from last seasons axmen TV show on the Nicolai Mt AOL repeater (451.625) a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I got the UP TRS in now. I used to know a guy who worked at UP out of Portland actually and he thoguht it was odd the carman used a P25 trunking system in Portland but not elsewhere in the system at all. I've heard today actually UP Police; they were parked by the Steel Bridge.

I'm only picking up the "Portland South" IWN site now and there's been no activity at all. Even put UniTrunker on it and nothing. I'll try out when I am over on Belmont (Well, really the Zupans; I'll be running an inventory there at 5 AM) where I can pull in other sites.

Heard FPS today too, was more interesting to listen. I got TSA in now; going to be out by PDX soon anyways.

What does US CBP use in Portland? I know they have two officers over at HIO (Hillsboro Airport).

Oh and for the loggers; I know they use CB for truck to truck stuff but I heard rumors that Wehrhauser uses low band...

I believe that band was "Jackyl" I remember one of the logger's radio had telephone interconnects Don't know if those are still used.

Yup Jackyl sounds like the cheesy 80's band with chainsaws.

I listen to Weyco on 48.96 48.98 49.06, AOL on 451.575 451.625 451.175, WCLA on 48.86, and some other unidentified ones on 461.1. Longview Fibre has some low band repeater scattered around but I haven't heard much on them since the did some sort or re-orgainization or buyout or something?

I haven't heard any telephone interconnect on the AOL in ages. Cell coverage has gotten better in the woods down here, with alot of users getting rid of company radios completely or rarely using them.
