I've returned 2 bluetooth speaker phones.
does anyone use one in their car that they would suggest?

returned:
Motorola T305
really bad background noise pick up on mic

Wireless Gear 4PR910
really quiet speaker, resets volume to "low" when powered on.

My dad has this one; I've never used it but it works well enough for him--a non-techie. Sound quality is pretty good on my end.

the jawbone is also the best to hack, its very easy to intercept the calls from it with out the user knowing.

just food for thought.

on a side note I just rented a car with the Microsoft Synch, i was impressed with the security and function of the product.

That article was written in Sept '07. I imagine the Jawbone 2 is more secure.... imagine, hope, assume, other possibly damning phrases....

i did this hack in a presentation about 4 months ago and was able to hack a jawbone MAC address, however I have no idea what version it was. Just know the vendor MAC starting. (and I asked the guy who I noticed wearing it as they are easy to spot)

however realize that this can occur on any headset I just use jawbone for demo's

also realize that the likelihood of the attack is very low, Its rather difficult to get to work just on a whim. i would say in a hour of playing in the library i might see 1 MAC that i can attack and its not there long enough for me to really get it to work.

it was more of just food for thought, your cell phone is the juicy target or better yet the bluetooth in your car, but I digress basically, its a "not to scare but make aware" (that is the title of my presentations).
