Third and Fourth Digit

The third and fourth digit of the unit identifier will indicate the patrol district or sector the unit is working, special assignment, rank or off-duty personnel number, with the exception of K9 and special operations units.

30 seriesRenton

Joint Drug/Gang Task Force

A joint drug and gang task force has been established between Des Moines PD and KCSO. They use "Four-XRay" units for identification purposes (i.e. 4X5 is a Des Moines PD Task Force unit).

City Mayors

If a city’s mayor chooses to use a police radio, their call sign shall be similar to other administrative personnel with a special designator of "100". As an example, the Renton Mayor would use 10R100.
