Brian is right, the "box" is for the map box, on which the address can be found. If you listen closely, the map box usually has a similar designation to the fire dept. being dispatched. Map box 71-22 is a map in the Kent Fire Department service area, for example (Kent stations are 71 thru 77). Interesting enough, Southcom, which dispatches Fed Way, SeaTac and N. Highline do not offer map boxes on dispatch. That will change when Valley Com takes over Southcom dispatching when the new VC building is completed, I believe early next year.
