: Their repeater gets out pretty good. Puyallup's repeater is on the same freq (different PL) and I can hear it way up north using the 780 with the factory antenna. The 780's receiver seems better than average on VHF high band, and does better than my AOR3000 on VHF air and UHF fed. 800 and 900mhz is about the same. I've had some front-end overload problems on VHF high with an external antenna but its not near as bad as I've seen with other radios.
