OK...a lot of history is behind what i'm about to say...but you know and I know that this Trunk stuff was sold to an overwhelming number of regional agencies years ago with 2 aspects..1) secure against constant monitoring...2) Disaster proof. Karl from LA has posted on this bbs a very cool article on the resiliancy of the system...and thank you for that Karl, very cool...but the end evalution is that it is not free of bugs when everyone keys up. Now..the first issue, security, Nope...didn't happen...were all listening. Yes even sometimes the criminals, although the common criminal is just to dumb to even understand the concepts we deal with to even turn on our scanners. HOWEVER...I see no paranoia with switching to a heretofore unknown channel when dealing with difficult situations that could be comprimized by those that do not have the "best interests of the agency" at heart. In fact...in the beginning this is what the system promised for all occasion. I am no cop lover beleive me (I monitor Military and other HF)...but doesnt it make sense for everyones safety? especially when dealing with a definately paranoid crackhead? Im so long winded...i apoligize.
