I suspect that I am one of the younger visitors to this board. I am 25. Maybe gregz is around there...i dont know...that should not be an issue. First of all.. this "US and THEM" attitude that exists among my generation and the police is completely assanine. Many feel that the powers that be hold an upper hand in their prosperity. True. They do. Those that have will always seek to stifle those in want. Those in want will always seek to gain what those that have possess. From my years monitoring I have gained an overwhelming respect for the police though. Even if I don't agree with the laws they are enforcing, I will always have RESPECT for the cop on the beat. From monitoring the last couple of nights..it seems as if those my age do not share this similar value. Why do you think the cops get in hard gear? Is it because they want to kick your ass? NO..this is the most effective way for them to accomplish their duties and not be hurt. Their employers are the county and city and their employers are subject to OSHA standards. If a cop was hit by a bottle and he wasnt directed to get into his protective plate mask...who would be at fault? Think about it. We have a new police chief in seattle and he seems very reasonable. AS HE SHOULD BE! I cant even beleive what went on the other night...I am so ashamed for my generation. TO THE ROUSERS...YOU WONT WIN...YOU MIGHT END UP WITH chems in your eyes...but think about what your doing tuesday night...the hard working men and women of SPD will not stand for you tearing up and brutalizing the property and people of their town. Give yourselves and the women and men who enforce the laws some respect. You all deserve that.
