I believe there are 8 channels on this radio to pick from and 38 privacy codes per channel. Yes, they are using the new 280/289 body style. There are some new accessories to go along with the new GT+ radios but from what I know, many of the 280/289 accessories work with them. : : I'm not sure if they scan or how the scan would work. : : These are NOT FRS radios and you are to get a license if you use them.
