Do not know for sure, but seem to remember that it might be a CTCSS board, except your description doesn't say anything about any switch bank that would allow one to set a certain PL tone to decode. I also think the 2037 can take some of the OptoElectronics boards, but the Opto board I have connects to either the scanner's CPU chip or RAM chips and again it sounds like your description doesn't account for that.
Any ideas of how (wires, etc) the board connects to the scanner's circuitry? I did a quick look at RShack's web site but they didn't have a schematic.
: A certain large employer of deputies brought me a scanner that they acquired during a raid/forfeiture. Turns out to be a Pro-2037. Not really a big deal. Had all of the normal stuff that I would expect in it. It did have a connector on the back very much like a PS2 mouse. Looks like the old rs-232 type. Of course I had to open it up. Installed very professionally in the bottom was a board that I cannot seem to locate any documentation on. Its about 3/4" thick and filled with epoxy or something similar. It’s got a couple test points and some pots to tweak. Measures about 3x5". Anybody got a clue who made it? The cops could care less. This info is for me only.
