: : : They are the same freqs for both types of talk groups. When you enter them in trunk mode be sure to select type 2 system. But to tell you the truth I have better luck with the type one set up with all the status bits in the fleet maps set to 0. That way when a group patches with another you dont need a seperate Id number for each patch. hope this helps.

Seattle Motorola Type II SmartZone ASTRO Analog (with limited digital) Uses Motorola MTS 2000 radios. There are technically three SmartZone systems covering Seattle - City of Seattle system covers Seattle; The East Side Public Safety system covers the East Side - Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland; The Valley system covers South King County. Seattle is allowing their residents to by radios by Motorola and they will adjust them in their radio dept so local citizens can keep in touch. The prices start at $1599 for MTS 2000 #1. In addition, Federal agencies in Seattle have Motorola radios with the city police and fire talkgroups programmed in them, as well as groups labled FED 1 to FED 9. State Police will be going to a Motorola APCO-25 compliant ASTRO Type II digital system. Update (12/29/98): The State Police going to a trunked digital system is NOT TRUE according to the Washington State Patrol Electronic services division. They have no intention of this in the forseeable future, and have not even considered it as an option.

A technical meeting has been called for February 1999 to discuss what is going to happen over the next two years with the WSP system. One thing that is going to be talked about is trunking. Maybe not 800 but trunking, probabaly the exsisting VHF freqs. Also, the powers that be in Olympia are moving in the direction of having the WSP responsible for all state wide radio communications. That means that they would take over the operation of both the DOT and DNR systems.

I would like to receive Valley Comm's FD&PD, and Seattle FD&PD. I tried a list someone gave me and they came up as Type I. Would like the Type II list. I have the TT ID's but not the right Freq's. But to tell you the truth I have better luck with the type one set up with all the status bits in the fleet maps set to 0.
