My AOR 8200 is terribly ill. I love my 8200 and plan in the next few days to perform emergency surgery on the poor lil bastard. The BNC mount is swiveling and reception is cutting in and out. It is very sick. I'm and going to ground my self heavily, open it up, and try and set things straight. I can not send it away for treatment as I adopted it illegally from another country and it has no health insurance. I blame myself for this matter. Although I increased my gain dramatically with the use of a RS Telescoping Whip...my poor 8200 ultimately suffered from the unforgiving rigidity of the antenna. I'm ready to set things right. I am into Military Monitoring, both VHF and Utility shortwave. I used to have a Trunker and appreciate following all the uptodate info on this board. I'm ready to fix it. I think I know how. I have studied up on some aspects of the procedure, but have heard many nightmares. To ward this off, I have saccrificed a chicken. I know things will go well. Please cross your fingers for me. Please pray for my unit.
