For starting out,
Go with the Bearcat BC895XLT for under $200 (I never been fond of HH scanners) How much are willing to spend? this is one I love at this time, ICOM R8500 under $1500, ok back to the real world.
RS PRO-2052 for under $250 if you can find one, Uniden builds most of RS scanners, but I feel that Uniden has held back in quality of RS scanners, selectivity and sensitivity could be better I also feel that RS scanners are over priced.
As with all scanners sold in the USA after 1994 does not cover 800cel freq. order outside the USA, UK is a good starting point, BUT.... the Freq stepping may be off compared to its US counterparts.
: Hello all. I'd like to find a better scanner than the Pro-57 I've got. Is it possible to get one that scans the whole spectrum without the blocked-out sections? As you can tell, I'm a total beginner so any help is appreciated! Thanks.
