Nope, the 245xlt antenna has the same desense symptoms on the 895. I've tried various antennas with the same results. I can pick up the data channel loud and clear with no antenna (thus the overload feeling) but then it get's choppy and drops out. Oh well, I'll leave the 895 at home and use the 245 at work I guess.
:o)
: fear not, my Pro 94 has a bug or 2.
: it's not the antenna?? swap the 2 antennas and see if the problem follows the antenna or the scanner??
: : Ok, so like I have one of each of said mentioned scanners, I live/exist/work on the Eastside and no matter what system I listen to the 245XLT get's a stronger, cleaner and more stable on the data channel signal than the 895.
: : I've used external antenna's on the 895 to move the ant. further away from the oscillators etc in the radio, no luck. It sounds like front end overload/desense. I have not tried an attenuator in the ant. line yet.
: : Anyone else found the same thing? Please only comment if you have used a 895xlt and a 245xlt, I'm not interested in how much better your Radio Shack Pro-94/92 scanner is.... :o)
