I believe the reasoning of that rule is so that news agencies can't "spy" on each other and find out about stories by listening to the competition. I may be wrong, but that sounds to me like it is right.

: Why can the news people listen to everyone elses business but we can't listen to them? That's crazy.

: : : Does anyone happen to have the frequencies for the News Choppers? I saw several of them flying near my apartment a few days ago, and never did figure out what they were looking at. I never even saw anything on the news. Any help would be most appreciated.

: : Sure. Here are the freqs used by news stations to talk to remote units, including choppers. Note: It is supposed to be illegal to listen to stations talking to their units, so be warned.

: : KING/5: 455.5125
: : You will hear the station as "K-I-N-G base" and the chopper is "SkyKing"
: : KIRO/7: 161.700
: : KOMO: ?
: : KIRO/KNWX radio: 450.6875, 161.640, 455.450

: : thats all I have... i hope it helps.
