Here in the Tri-Cities, the local police departments and sheriff use LERN to communicate with Benton County Jail master control. It is also used for "chat" once in a while.

: Lynnwood Motorcycle cops use it amongst themsleves all the time as their own personal FRS.

: : : Hello!

: : : I am wondering what OSCCR stands for. I have the frequency as 156.135. Is this frequency
: : : mainly used as simplex?

: : : Thanks!

: : *************

: : On Scene Command Coordination Radio (OSCCR).

: : In Washington State is is licensed through the State DEM for use by various public safety agencies. The intent was to provide a single, universal, common, frequency for use by all responders, ( L.E., Fire, EMS, DOT, etc.) during a large scale incident or emergency occurance. It is available for "mobile" use ONLY under this "group" license.

: : Although many agencies have access to this freq, it typically is not used for it's intended purpose.
