: I'm interested. If someone can cough up the tower space, I have a 35-watt repeater that I built from an old UHF Motorola Pulsar RCC mobile phone. It would probably need a PL board and 12-volt power source though. Unfortunately the only tower space I have access to is on Devils Mountain which would only cover Skagit Co, Island Co, and north Snohomish Co.
Its funny to see this given that there have been several similar efforts over the years. The main problem is as soon as you move something to a high site that will actually cover puget sound, someone has to pay rent on a tower site. Then everyone looses interest...
In any case, I have multiple GMRS repeaters up that serve all areas of puget sound. If anyone want to put a group together and help me pay DNR for the annual rents, I'd love to have users on them.
