In my honest opinion, King Co. got ripped off with the val. com. system.. Dead spots everywhere, static conversation and that is if your lucky. I hear ham repeaters that are 3 times as far away that come in crystal clear. I realize antenna choice is important, but come on. Didn't King Co. know 800Mhz is not for hilly pine tree laden areas?? Wiz maybe you know what they were thinking.... Just my 2 cents.. and for ref. I use a Maxrad seeker antenna just to get a scratchy reception on the Fed way site, and that is from in Auburn, sooo sad... Oh well just hope that it can be fixed before someone becomes a victim of a deadspot.... and god forbid if they switch to digital ARGH.. what a nightmare that would be...
: There are several spots in the area that do this. Another is 405 at 167. The radio is being overloaded, outside antennas make it worse. These areas have a lot of other strong towers near by such as for phone service. Hope that helps.
