I was up at the Island County Fair in Langley yesterday, and was talking to a District 3 firefighter at their display. He told me that due to ongoing interference problems with Snohomish County (SNOPAC), Island County has just switched their Primary Dispatch/Paging/Operations over to their old TAC channel of 154.175. Appears they're still using 100hz for PL. Once I made the switch, I did hear numerous Island Co. Fire dispatches throughout yesterday and today. Apparently, this change took place just last week.
He did not comment on what they would now use as a TAC channel...however, while they were doing a vehicle extrication demonstration at the fair, I noted they were using their handheld radios - but I couldn't hear them on any of the "normal" fire channels. I was able to scan around for awhile, and found their chit-chat on 151.920. Don't know if that's some kind of local gov't or what. They were using 100hz PL, and I never did hear ICOM (their dispatch) on that frequency. It was just the FF's.
