There is a review article in the current issue(Aug) of Popular Communications Mag. You can find it at area Barnes and Noble and Borders Book stores. From reading the article the GRE PSR-500 Advanced digital Scanner looks to be very very cool. Same design team as the Pro-96. Its supposed to have a more powerful CPU and the CPU and the Dig signal processor are fully firmware upgradeable by the end user. For trunking it will handle: Motorola: VHF/UHF/700/800/900, analog P-25
Edacs: wide/narrow/scat and LTR. Digital of course.
"a new addition will be the ability to decode and squelch on P-25 Network access codes."
It also has a Tri-color LED at the top near the front that you can assign specific colors to any memory object. It can be solid or be programmed to flash. Colors of LED: Red,yellow, green, cyan, blue, magenta and white.
1800 memory alocations. etc. Sounds like a pretty sweet radio...Looks good too.

Not sure on that. I don't see that in the article. I think I might be trying one out once they become avail...
