The San Diego area FCC Office has been busy locating all sorts of "border Zone" radio users -- assisting Homeland Security agencies. Over a dozen microwave users -- most in the 21 - 26 Ghz bands -- have been sent notices of fines -- from $ 4,000 to over $ 10,000. Some were licensed -- but not using the correct frequency -- while others were not licensed at all. All of the stations are business companys -- communicating with offices "below the US Border" in Mexico. Most were located within 5 miles of the border -- near San Diego. Now if they would only go after all of the illegal Mexican stations on Public Safety radio channels -- !!!! 153.83 Low Power Fire -- has a high powered Mexican Repeater -- that booms in all the way up to Santa Barbara -- over 200 miles away. Blaine and Bellingham could be next.
