I only caught part of the transmission, but someone on 155.295 was using nac 293 yesterday.

I'm going to "park" on the 155.295 ANW freq. and see if I get anything.

Have heard ZIP in the last hour. usually you hear chatter about patient transfers etc. But will keep listening.

Put it in mixed-mode, heard what sounded like modulation with more bass, but didn't have time to look at the display. I'll keep listening.

One wonders if this is something HIPAA related....Like when the local hospital here decided to switch their security department's comms to full-time rolling code voice inversion, just in case someone mentioned a patient's name over the radio.

I e-mail a flight nurse friend who tells me that ALNW moved to a new building at Boeing Field and that did switch to digital. Same freq but digital. Right now the Arlington transmitter is the only one that works so they are using Med 1 and 2 until the link can be fixed.

Any mention of the type of digital? P25, NXDN, Trblow?

Confirmed Airlift 5 using P25 yesterday.

Also, I found a bunch of hits logged from earlier that all had the same very high signal strength, indicating they're probably using the Harborview location at least for testing. Interesting that they haven't updated their license, since of course they're required to go narrowband anyway.

That is a nice looking Astro:) What antenna do you have on it in that picture?

And to stay on topic I have reprogrammed my radio for mixed mode RX on 155.295 NAC F7E.

The "Visar" VHF antenna kind of looks like that one in the picture, but IIRC I gave you a wide band baseball bat antenna.

yes it works great. They all have the same issue with cracking near the top. I called on the Newberg machine several weeks ago. I heard you answer but in either analog or digital I couldn't make it from Gabriel Park in SW Portland. I'll be in Keizer Thursday so I'll try again. Oaks Park the first two weekends next month for Holiday Express.

here's a little trick if you have a bcd396xt or bcd996xt

set the 155.295 alnw freq up as a p25 "One frequency trunk system" and you'll be able to see the tgid number they use... then once that tgid# is set up in your group list...hold on that tgid# and you'll be able to see radio uid#'s on the scanner display screen if your xt has been firmware updated to decode radio uid#'s

good way of keeping track of units coming on the air

When they said "channel 139" or something to that effect, they meant which memory position the desired frequency is in their Wolfsburg radios. In the old days (I was a dispatcher for Airlift) we would have to give the ground contact frequency and tone when the crew got to the aircraft so they could manually enter it. That system caused a few problems as you can imagine. Now they have almost every possible frequency used by fire departments, EMS, and hospitals pre-programed into the radio. Now the controller just tells them to switch to "channel 139".
