So I guess by the sound of my "buzzing" pro 97 and pro 163 when they stop on a Bonney Lake Talk Group, I will be in the market for a digital scanner ?

I see the pro 106 is on sale for $399.99($100.00 off) until 2/27. Will this do the trick ?

Which talkgroup? I think some of those are encrypted.

It will work for BLPD and a lot more. Be warned that it is an Object Oriented Scanner and requires a major mindset change to get used to it. Kind of like PC vs. Mac.

I jumped to the 500 from my Pro-96 and also upgraded from Win96 to Win500. Win500 simply converted my Win96 file to get me going.

Yes I did my homework before I bought the pro 106. I downloaded the win 500 software and thankfully it converted my files from my pro 97 into it and I am scanning on the new pro 106. I can once again hear Bonney Lake Dispatch in digital . Sounds cool in digital, kinda like streaming audio you hear over the internet. I will be playing with this new radio and software for months getting used to object oriented scanning.feels like the old days of trunk tracking.

Thanks Guys

Welcome to the digital age. I am listening to some digital testing tonight on 44816 on both site 1 and 2.

What it the furthest north you are getting the Puyallup CC and what are the site locations? If there is a Bonney Lake site up and running that's news to me. What are those CC's?

I pick it up in the Renton Highlands quite well for the CC. My big problem is that they use 868.4 as an alternate control channel and as a main voice channel. Half-way between me and Puyallup is the Kent RJC which runs their control channel on 868.4. This causes my scanners to get real ratty on 868.4 and often after a channel grant ends my scanner will motorboat on the RJC control channel ignoring the end code. I think Bonney Lake put up their own tower in town extending the simulcast coverage in their city.

I was wondering what that "wildcard" talk ID was.... Are they simulcasting with the digital talk ID ? and why do you think they decided to do this ?

I have my wild card ID turn on a yellow light as well. I know the radio techs have been heard troubleshooting a digital drop out problem for the past month or so. The digital BLPD TG has not been used in the past few days. It would be nice to find out what all of the new groups are labeled by the system.
