The question should be "Who wouldn't be able to do a better job at the FCC ?" Micheal Moore is too wise and Madonna has better moral stanadards. Who ever takes over -- couldn't do a worse job. If you want to use a radio channel -- unless you have cash -- you will have to do without. Did any consumer request HDTV ?? NO. If you get on the "No Call list" you can still get calls from Non-profit groups. Powell gave away everything but the FCC doormat. WHOOOPS - He just gave that to Nextel. All 260 FM channels found owners -- at auction -- but LESS than half of all LPFM applications have been granted. It might be because the average price for one of those 260 FM channels was $ 623,000.00. Within the next 10 years Public Safety Radio users could end up PAYING fees and sharing spectrum with GMRS or FRS and Nextel.
