Slightly related, learned yesterday that the KC Metro 700 trunked system expects to go live Q1 2011. Equipment installations beginning Q2/Q3 2010.

KC metro are moving from a 400mhz system to the new system. ( I thought they did all ready)

800mhz systems are all "scrapped" with the band switch to 700mhz systems. there will be no longer a 800mhz system's (anywhere) they will all be 700mhz systems.

my information applies to the King County Emergency and Public Service System.

==edit I used the term scrapped wrong here which caused a lot of confusion on this thread. as well as the term to move to 700mhz as a primary see later posts to clear up. I was meaning scrapped in my head of move from the current frequency... not the OP I quoted of .. scrapp to the 700mhz metro system.

King County and most other local systems will be on 800 for quite some time. Cite your source.

I'm not sure how you can have it, when we haven't even settled it.

King County Metro is soon to be on 700 MHz X2 TDMA. Sorry, no scanners. Takes an APX with the X2 flash.

The information you received is the same packet we're handing out to all of our users. It's very general, and will be until we see the engineering plan from our consultant

The system is far from being scrapped. We're currently upgrading several of the systems in the area with new controllers and other cool stuff.

If you have specific questions about our system, you can always pm me. I'll answer them if I can.

so I don't see why you flamed me for poor information. or why the rest of the reply's decide that my information is crap?

==edit didnt read METRO==

I am only talking about the nextel paid shift to 700 mhz re branding. when I state that the system is hybrid till 2013 that is the 800/700 system. As I understand that the control channels will still be 800mhz with some shifting to 700mhz making like two systems then the switch.
