I'd like to be the first to welcome another member in to the GRE Cult, subsection PSR-500. Our own Mark S. picked one up today in Portland, at the HRO store...

...And called me like 3 hours later "Holy shit, this thing is complicated!" Image

For Alaska, I got the Statewide P25 system, the Alaska Railroad, some marine stuff and half the stuff for PANC. That file I slapped together at the last minute back in April because I got called up to work in Alaska with less than 12 hours notice. I'm planning to fix it up actually since now I might go up there again before the year is over.

My Dell goes ding-dong when I plug in the magic cord, but never any connection or little blue TX/RX light.
Win XP Pro Ver 2002 Service Pack 3 1.6GHZ and 512 MB RAM.

Blue? its Red/Green on the RadioShack cable. Works pretty zippy.

You have the driver?

Using the cord that came with it than double clicked the red icon program in USB CABLE DRIVER for WinXP. And nothing

Oh, you need to get Win500 to actually download data from the scanner.
