Just looking for a confirmation here ...

We are having a family get together later today at Potholes State Park just south of Moses Lake and was wondering about their frequencies.

I had 151.280 that was used for simplex park operations. This runs with CSQ on the tone. Has anyone else seen other frequencies used?

Here in Moses Lake I hear them on WSP/Ephrata signing in as "Parks xxx".

Thanks for the help!

151.28 is the only freq that the state parks use on a routine basis. Their radio's have access to local and state stuff. DNR State, WSP state, and some marine freq's if near the water.

I've heard 151.280 all over the state. For maintenance and stuff.
The commissioned rangers will come up on WSP 'area' for L/E type comms.

They used to be on DNR common 159.42 quite a bit in the past, don't know if that's changed

If you're listening to WSP and you hear "Parks ###" those are the rangers I believe.

"Forest ###" should be the federal national forest law enforcement.

The only thing I can add is that earlier this year in Oak Harbor, I picked up a reference sheeet which lists State Parks as 151.280 and also 151.295. As my wife and I have traveled I have only heard Park Rangers on 151.280 and the local WSP Detatchment frequency for drivers checks, etc. I have had some Rangers tell me that they have the local sheriff's department frequency is their radios as well.

And yes, when a Park Ranger goes onto the WSP frequency they refer to themselves and are called by "Parks" ###. ### is their actual badge number, just as WSP uses the badge number.
