I have been away for a few years, I lived in Jackpot, NV where there is no TV reception. I got back to Everett, WA and my hand held TV picked up no analog signals. I bought a WinTV adaptor for my laptop- no digital signal. Aparently it is no good 10 miles away from an HD station.
Now I am in Discovery Bay, WA which is 12 miles outside of Port Townsend. Much to my surprise I get CW 11 on my hand held. But to my understanding on June 12th Port Townsend's tower is going digital. Am I doomed due to distance? CW has lousy programing and no news- but "live" TV beats watching reruns on the Internet.

You might have a chance with a large external antenna and an amp. Otherwise forget it. I was able to get some digital stations 50 miles from the transmitter and over a line-of-sight obstructing hill. Usually its a game of putting up a decent antenna and seeing what you can receive.

I believe that transmitter you speak of is on the hill over your community.
