Anyone build up anything from copper wire and for inside? I'm thinking about making a 'V' centered/pointed towards the trans site. Since any store antenna with 'HDTV' written on it is a rip-off. |

Just make sure to point your elements like this: (transmitter) V V V You'll notice some TV antennas have straight elements while others have "V" elements. Antennas with straight elements typically have one element per channel. Antennas with "V" elements use a single element for multiple channels and/or are designed for long range. The reason for this is because a dipoles pattern tends to spread toward the ends as you get away from its resonant frequency, so you bend the elements a little to keep its pattern pointed straight. Personally I would just buy an antenna from a discount outlet like Stark Electronic. Its hard to beat the gain of a commercial product with homebrew stuff. |
