No- digital delay. HD is a luxury option.

yes its important to say that its not HD that is required, just a Digital signal, it can still be crappy looking.

Yes, I believe TBN proves that point with its 5 subchannels of low resolution religious programming....

That 480 digital doesn't look real good.
I like the NFL games and PBS stuff in HD.
My DVD player has junked so now I have a reason to buy a Blu-Ray.

Yeah the 480i was supposed to be the "equivalent" of our current analog NTSC. Not only does it look worse than analog, it looks much worse when the broadcasters get bandwidth greedy and overcompress it. This is the same reason most non-HD satellite stuff looks like crap.

I think TBN is worse; it looks like they run video at like CIF sized video!

Funny thing;

I re-scanned/searched and I have a bout 99 digital channels and around 20 analog. Up from about 25 total or so.

Hmm..

I heard from the media the DTV thing is in the process of being delayed four months.
Needs to be signed off still.

It's all a pack of "pinkoo" lies. There is no such thing as HDTV. J Edgar Hoover.

Well, I'm ready/there.
Don't do what I did and buy the cheapest plasma (Starts with V) , from an unnamed manufacture(Starts with Vizio), from an unnamed store([Embarrassed] {WalMart}) . 'Cuz they have issues (Overheats and shuts off).
...$500.. :| I know better...
It looks good for a couple hours.. then heat build up shuts it down. Correction is unplug/replug after cool down. Kinda dumb for a 'modern' TV.
