My car radio is picking up KOMO AM 1000 -- in Stereo. NOT Digital -- just a standard GM Car radio -- with AM Stereo. How many others are still broadcasting a C-quam Stereo signal ?? Anyone else hearing local AM stations -- in stereo ?? |

Did'nt they start transmitting in stereo 10 or 20 years ago. I remember it was a big thing back then. Around the time CD's started getting fazed in. |

I believe so, I had a SONY portable radio (1986) that had a 2 posistion switch between MotorolaC-QAM and Kahn/Hazletine broadcast set ups. It stopped working but at the time only a few were doing it . KONA in Pasco was and it did improve music quality but it was an attempt to boost AM radio before Talk radio came along and ruined it (imo) |

From here in Moses Lake I can pick up KONA 610 AM in stereo. They are still going strong in the Tri-Cities. I wish I could get KWIQ AM 1020, KBSN AM 1470, and KULE AM 730 to try AM stereo. There IS a difference. |
