Boats as a getaway, fishermen as witnesses... makes for a good read.

That makes me very happy.

It's a double edged sword...

'Terrorism' is being thrown around as a label WAY too often.... EVERYONE who doesn't agree with the status quo is a defacto terrorist...

Secondly, if it IS declared as terrorism, the insurance company won't payout, as terrorism/acts of war is on just about everyones exclusion list on their insurance policy since 9/11...

I wouldn't be surprised if the tower owners don't call for leniency/misdemeanor sentencing just so they can get their insurance payout.

Actually in the beefy insurance policies I have see for a few pretty important structures do have provisions for terrorism. Considering its a radio tower, I would assume this would be in place.

Here's what I gather:

Neighbors: I don't like hearing the radio signal when I use my unshielded electronics.

ELF: EMR will screw you up if you're exposed to too much of it. Therefore, it's bad, and we will ignore facts and the opinions/interests of others because ours is too important.

I can understand the neighbor's complaints. 1210 AM, now KTBK, formerly KBSG, is close to where I grew up. Lots of interference on the POTS lines. It wasn't too bad listening to Elvis or the Hollies, but when they flipped to a Spanish channel, it got annoying to always hear that on the phone. So we got new phones and now hear nothing.

(From U.S. Code Title 22, Ch.38, Para. 2656f(d)

(d) Definitions (2) the term “terrorism” means premeditated, politically motivated violence perpetrated against noncombatant targets by subnational groups or clandestine agents;

The United States has defined terrorism under the Federal criminal code. 18 U.S.C. §2331[25] defines terrorism as:

…activities that involve violent… or life-threatening acts… that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State and… appear to be intended (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping…."
