:? Lat/Long from camera location. Speculation is it reflects from Hall Mt. (Como site) to the Border site.

Specifically, a microwave reflector. Pretty fascinating, and it WORKS! |

It's in a super-duper remote location. It's hard to find on an ATV. I'll get in closer to it on horse-back this summer. So it reflects any RF? I think it's on top of Copper Mt. About five miles south of the BC border, 6 miles west of MT. (Mosquito factory) Rich, bring your animal up. Lot's of trails/ un-trails up here. The Lat/Long is from the Cannon camera, so no telling the accuracy. |

I should search around 400.xxx gov't mhz to see what I find. There's a pump station to the Trans-Can gas line, or it could have something to do with the border ops. |

Its 6ghz microwave from the pump station to another PG&E facility outside of Sandpoint. The two facilities have microwave equipment which goes through two hilltop passive reflectors. Perhaps a map will better describe it. Zoom way in on this then click "Aerial": Outlaws mystery microwave map |

I don't know how you figure this stuff out, when it's in my back yard and you're 1300 miles away. Next weekend I'm going to ride (saddle) the pipeline close to the pump, cross to the FS2517 road, then loop back on a trail I found. There's a ham guy (AD7MX) in Eastport who will monitor simplex if I fall in the river. Well, now I know what it is and does. Thanks. |

Besides SCADA and other obvious utility uses, it might be used to link their 462.475 repeater across the state. You should put 462.475 in your scanner and see if you hear out of area traffic coming across it. |

You should put 462.475 in your scanner and see if you hear out of area traffic coming across it. My $35 eBay scanner bit it. I'll punch it up in my 7900 and let you know what I hear. I do remember you giving the info in a different conversation. They must heat the gas too. At times during light snow there was a definite line of no snow suggesting where the pipe is buried. |

The gas gets heated by the compression. Things get a little warm when you stuff too much of it into a pipe. Perhaps Mark has some input on this. |

I had it on for an hour, no traffic. |

Resurrecting this, just happened upon it. PE&E/Williams/Trans-Canada I understand has abandoned 462.4750 thanks to WA DNR in favor of satellite. DNR wanted an outrageous amount of money per month (heard $1400/mo) in site rent at Tekoa Butte which was the mid-point of this system. I have not seen a UHF ant on a Williams truck for a year or so and heard no traffic on the above. William trucks now have sometype of satellite drum antenna on their trucks. I believe they are Qualcomm. |

I spotted another reflector nearby. This second one is above the Eastport 'gate' to the east & a tad south. |
