After -40* with a 25mph windchill for the past few weeks, Fairbanks at 30* is a treat. Somewhere colder tomorrow...

Nice to know that the roaming works well on this system. I affiliated to an Anchorage talkgroup a little bit ago and drug the traffic up (then raced home and breathlessly checked Pro96Com to see if it caught it- it did).

Final update from the garden spot of Fairbanks. Note- though some alpha tags vary from radio to radio, all but maybe 5 talkgroups are confirmed from actual radios from the agency using that TGID. The others are extrapolated based on the usual methods, including series RIDs.

Also, though there are 100+ interop TGIDs on the system, I didn't bother to tag most of them. No time. And, if you see lots of weird TGIDs with only a single affiliation, you're welcome ;)

Failure- Wil was set for a 5 hour window in Fairbanks today and an 8 hour window in Anchorage in a few weeks in which to track ALMR again...but Wil flew out with barely 30 minutes notice and forgot the PC-IF cables for radios with which to track.

Fail, Wil. Fail.

You're dead to me!
However I did something similar last week. I had my laptop and my scanner in my carry on coming back from Florida, but didn't have serial adapter or scanner cable. I tracked a bunch of state of Colorado trunked sites from 30,000 ft, but couldn't run pro96com.

This time I have all of the cables...and all dead AA batteries.

And a dead guy, but that's more of a checked baggage issue.

There are cheaper alternatives; I got an old Uniden cordless phone wall wart with the same voltage/polarity on eBay for a couple of bucks.
